Welcome to Get Ahead! Get Ahead is a space, or forum for Graduates with Disabilities where they can discuss and share their experiences of the transition from education to employment and in turn help to spread this information and advice to others who may be about to undergo this process. In this way Get AHEAD constitutes a network of and for Graduates with Disabilities.
As well as providing a space and carefully managed network for this practical advice and personal experience Get Ahead provides an extensive centralised directory of valuable information covering a wide range of topics and resources including job seeking, career guidance, legal entitlements, inclusive employment and training. Get Ahead also provides a tailored training program entitled 'Get Ready for Work' which covers issues such as employment law, disclosure, career guidance and advice. Through this direct dialogue and relationship with its ever-expanding network of members Get Ahead can lobby for change in response to the specific feedback, needs and demands of its members.
Get Ahead, The National Forum for Graduates with Disabilities, is an AHEAD (Association for Higher Education Access and Disability) initiative aimed at pooling and sharing the collected experience of those graduates and students with disabilities who have made or are making their way through third level education. It has been in operation for over 5 years and in this time has built a wide and diverse network of Graduates with Disabilities and amassed a spectrum of useful information and links based on personal input from its members.
