The landscape of higher education has changed dramatically in recent years and currently about 4.5% of all students studying in the field of health & welfare have disclosed a disability*. As educators, we are responsible for supporting these students and ensuring that they have a positive college experience.

AHEAD in collaboration with University College Dublin School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems are organising our biennial Summer School running from 10th - 12th June 2015 for Professionals working in the Health Sciences sector who have responsibility for including students with disabilities in the Health Professions, including clinical placements. This year, the Summer School focuses the spotlight on Mental Health and aims to open a dialogue about flexibility in teaching and learning, exploring the threshold concept of reasonable accommodations in healthcare.
