Building the Future 2017

Building The Future is a unique careers event aimed at students and graduates with disabilities from higher education. It has now been running for over 6 years and we are delighted to have the event hosted by Citi, 1 North Wall Quay yet again.

Employer Exhibition Area

An opportunity for you to meet and chat with employers about jobs they have on offer, WAM placements, their graduate programes and general advice. So far confirmed are; Citi, Accenture, Abbott Vascular,   cut-E, Dell, Employer Disability Information, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, ESB, HSE, KPMG,  Public Appointments Service and Sigmar Recruitment.  

Informative Workshops

There will be 3 helpful and informative workshops on the day. Workshops will be confirmed in a few weeks! 

Walk-In CV Clinic:

On the day you can have the opportunity to bring your CV and get it ‘examined’ by one of our employers. Bring a copy of your CV on the day if you wish to get your CV examined and simply just make an appointment at the CV Clinic on the day!

Mock Interviews

Mock interviews will be carried out by some of most successful companies based in Ireland you will get feedback on how to improve your performance at interview. Places for the mock interviews are limited and must be booked at the registration stage. If you haven't managed to get an interview, you can always see if there is any vacant slots available on the day. 

Special Feature - DESIGNS

This year's Building The Future will have a focus on deaf employment under the DESIGNS Project. There will be workshops for both employers and students and graduates on this topic and also we have reserved several mock interview slots for those who are Deaf and use Irish Sign Language. If you are a Deaf person with ISL, please do let us know on registration so we can allocate a mock interview for you.

DESIGNS Project

The DESIGNS project (Deaf Employment for Sign Language Users in the EU) is an EU project coordinated by Interesource Group (Ire-land) Limited. EU Partners are Centre for Deaf Studies, Trinity College Dublin, Association for Higher Education Access & Disability (AHEAD), the European Union of the Deaf (EUD), European Forum of Sign Language Interpreters (efsli), Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Heriot Watt University.
