Students with Disabilities - Learning from Home Survey 2021
Wednesday, 14th April 2021
In April 2020, AHEAD conducted a survey of further and higher education students with disabilities focused on their experiences of learning from home during the first wave of the Covid 19 pandemic.
One year on, we want to revisit the experiences of students with disabilities again, find out what has changed, what barriers remain, how they are continuing to cope with learning predominantly from home and figure out what the sector can learn about the positives and negatives of the move to online learning.
Data collected for this survey is intended to be used to inform AHEAD’s work supporting students with disabilities and the learning from it will be released in a public report, fed into government policy groups coordinating the national educational response to Covid19, and help inform the national approach to inclusion in further and higher education more generally.
By completing this survey, your experience and input can help to shape the national policy discussion and ensure that any future measures implemented are authentically informed by the voice of students with disabilities.
Data collected will be represented anonymously and only used for the purpose of formal/informal public reporting to highlight the experiences of students with disabilities. If you provide comments, they may be used anonymously within the published report on this survey or in related AHEAD presentations.
Topics explored in this survey include:
- How are you coping with learning from home?
- What are the biggest challenges you face learning from home?
- What positives do you take from your experiences of learning from home and of online assessment?
- How is your college/centre supporting you while learning from home?
- What aspects of learning from home would you like to see retained post-pandemic?
By completing this survey, your experience and input can help to shape the response. Data collected will be represented anonymously and only used for the purpose of formal/informal public reporting.
This survey is open from Apr 14th - May 5th 2021 and will take approximately 12-15 minutes.
