Session 2: Transform EDU - Employer Collaboration to Promote Graduate Employability [Meeting 1]

Section 1 - Introduction to Transform-EDU: We will present results of a survey of Irish employers which ascertained the soft skills that are valued by employers in specific fields of employment and the level to which employers believe graduates possess these skills.

We partnered with employers to develop workshops for final year undergraduate students to enable them to develop the specific soft skills most prized by employers in their field of study. We will share research findings that demonstrate the success of this approach and we will share the workshop materials that we developed, which are open access and freely available to students and educators.

Section 2 – Universal design for learning: Key universal design strategies that can bolster academic success for students with disabilities will be outlined in this section. Teaching and assessment tools that have been developed and utilised at TU Dublin will be outlined.
