WAM Christmas Mentoring Event

Mentoring; The gift we can give starting this Christmas - one connection at a time

The WAM Programme at AHEAD invite you to register your interest in our Christmas event kindly supported by Enterprise Rent-a-Car. As limited places will be available please register ASAP.

Date: 2nd December
Time: 10.00am - 1.00pm
Location: Chester Beatty Library, Dublin Castle, Dublin 2.

This event is sharing the story of WAM and their mentors. It is a story of success; it’s about students with disabilities realizing their potential and who, because of unique relationships, have succeeded in employment over the last ten years.

Mentoring has been core to the WAM Programme since it began in 2005 and this year, our 10th anniversary year, we want to share the learning – after all Christmas is a time for giving!

We launched our online mentoring training course last year and the first ‘employer graduates’, have completed and will be recognised. Christmas is a time for celebrating!

These employers will share their experience and the importance of mentoring when including disability in the workplace. It will also highlight what they got from their involvement in WAM and the mentoring relationship. This ‘gift’ was not just an individual benefit, it has created a greater diversity of relationships between colleagues and positive company culture. Christmas is – when you are lucky - about receiving!!

We are privileged to have the Tánaiste in attendance to award these mentors with their certificates for completing the online mentoring course.

While we will hear from past WAM employer mentors, Dr Deirdre McIntyre will host a most timely and positive event with a focus on ‘Teaching hope and optimism; Positive Psychology at work’. As we look to future learning and collaborations – Christmas is most definitely, a time for hoping!

Lunch will be provided to attendees followed by AHEAD's AGM.

The event will take place on Wednesday 2nd December @ the Chester Beatty Library Dublin Castle Dublin 2 from 10am – 1pm (registration to open at 9.30am).

This is an invite only event. To request an invite email wam@ahead.ie.
