Winter Wonderland… Let it Sparkle with Inclusion Gems
The WAM Programme at AHEAD are having its final employer training event of 2019 on how to create a workplace culture that genuinely values people with disabilities and promotes inclusion through their employee networks, in particular, their disability network.
Venue: Central Bank of Ireland, North Wall Quay, Dublin.
Date: Wednesday 4th December 2019
Registration: Private event. By invite only
Many companies provide opportunities for employees to participate in groups that bring together co-workers with shared interests. These groups are often referred to as ERGs (employee resource groups) or employee networks. These networks can range from women, LGBTQ+, ethnic-minorities, parents and disability/accessibility to name but a few. It provides a space for employees to connect with one another and also to ensure the workplace welcomes and supports them.
Networks are the first step where employees can stop and think about the culture and attitudes that prevail in an organisation for those that are marginalised or feel on the outside. As employers appreciate the benefits such networks can bring to the whole organisation, they are increasingly supporting their establishment.
This event will showcase our WAM employers and what they are doing to promote the disability agenda in their workplace through their network. The event will be highly interactive where attendees will be able to speed-network with our WAM employers in a world café style format following presentations by Central Bank’s BankAbility Network and Dell Technologies, TrueAbility Network.
The target audience for this event is WAM employers, new employers who are new on their diversity and disability journey.
This event is strictly invitation only and will have a limited capacity of 2 attendees per company. Refreshments and lunch will be provided to attendees.
