Bord Bia - Origin Green and Farmer Events Administrator

Applications are currently open for one position with Bord Bia as an Origin Green and Farmer Events Administrator.
Bord Bia promotes, assist and develop the marketing of Irish food and livestock and the production, marketing and consumption of horticultural produce. Bord Bia acts as a link between Irish food, drink and horticulture suppliers and existing and potential customers throughout the world.

This role is for a 6 month placement and applicants should have a minimum NFQ Level 6 degree in any discipline.  There is a hybrid working policy is in place for this role where the candidate works onsite 3 days per week and from home 2 days per week.

 Role Duties and Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining and ensuring the effective administration of farmer events and engagement for the Origin Green Team. Assist with organising logistics for farmer/origin green events and meetings and compiling reports following events. The nature of the role requires the administrator to understand and fully comply the highest standards of confidentiality.

Key Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum level 6 NFQ in any discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Organisational skills:

  • Prioritising tasks to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Organising and maintaining diaries, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments.
  • Planning of event logistics and engaging with external suppliers
  • Effectively managing time to handle multiple administrative responsibilities.

Other Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrating ability to collaborate by engaging with various sectors within the Origin Green Department and working cross departmentally with the wider Bord Bia team.
  • Team Player
  • Event planning and customer engagement experience

Desirable:

  • Some experience in a busy office environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills:
  • Effective communication skills are needed, both verbal and written. This includes telephone communication, face-to-face interactions, and using email and Teams for updates. You'll need to collaborate within the department, across teams, and with external stakeholders, sharing information clearly and asking for help when needed

Key Responsibilities

  • Event support– working with the origin green team to plan and execute both farmer and origin green activities and events. This involves logistic planning pre, post and during events.   
  • Updating farmer Materials – working with the Origin Green team in the preparation and maintenance of Origin Green and Quality Assurance documents in line with new branding and the rollout of the new Quality Assurance Standard.
  • Web accessibility – supporting the maintenance and updating of origin green and quality assurance materials on the Bord Bia website and ensuring content meet national web accessibility requirements, making Bord Bia content more accessible by all.
