Mainstreaming Adjustments: Universal Design Strategies in Action
As the numbers of disabled students entering tertiary education continues to grow, without a corresponding increase in disability service staffing, institutions face a critical challenge: how to meet the demand? Taking a proactive approach, the University of Edinburgh have utilised mainstreaming to enhance the disabled student experience, with an embedded policy and engagement of academic staff to promote Universal Design for Learning.
