UDL: Connecting FET Learners, Practitioners, and the World

Duration: 1 Hour, beginning at 15.00

Platform: Zoom

AHEAD and SOLAS are supporting the Irish Further Education & Training (FET) sector in expanding beyond individual disability accommodations into true “active inclusion” for all learners by adopting the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework.

Discover how the UDL for FET Practitioners: Guidance for Implementing Universal Design for Learning in Irish Further Education and Training can help you to

  • reduce the need for individual add-on support services;

  • improve learner outcomes like persistence, retention, and satisfaction; and

  • reconnect with colleagues and nurture professional learning networks (PLNs) to grow inclusive design and practices.

UDL is a neuroscience-based approach that lowers barriers and supports a wide variety of learners, which allows us to design and deliver educational interactions that give learners options for engagement, receiving information, and taking action and expressing their learning. Find out how you can adopt UDL practices in your own work with learners.
