Visualise Your Message: Harnessing the Power of Graphics in Communication

This presentation showcases a plus-1 redesign applying UDL principles through graphic facilitation. By redesigning Moodle tiles for the PG Cert in UDL, Patricia improved clarity, accessibility, and user experience. Feedback was highly positive, reinforcing the value of inclusive visuals. The work now informs broader communication across the Teaching & Learning Centre.

This study investigates how engineering educators and instructional designers at ATU integrate emerging technologies through a UDL lens. Using mixed methods research, it identifies gaps in preparedness and institutional support, offering evidence-based recommendations for inclusive technology adoption and professional development that strengthen Universal Design implementation in tertiary engineering education.
