Letter from the Editor
This edition of the AHEAD Journal has very varied input, including our first special supplement, in collaboration with INHEF members, more about this below. As a continuing journey to improving access to the professions, we are pleased to hear from CORU about their work on practice placements, recognising ongoing challenges and resulting in their study undertaken to inform the development of new guidance, to be published in the Spring of 2026. AHEAD continues to break down barriers and is now celebrating 20 years of work on job placements, collaborating with major employers through the WAM programme. More recently, AHEAD’s leadership of the WIDE Framework is aiming to embed the guidance. The AHEAD Research and Policy Team provides a comprehensive update on the wide range of work they are undertaking, where employment emerges as a key theme. All our contributors offer our readers their experience, together with suggestions for future practice. We would particularly like to welcome the valuable contributions from colleagues writing about their own experiences and challenges. Once again, the AHEAD Journal team is so impressed by all the excellent work our authors demonstrate.
Enjoy a great read!
